Prefabricated houses

The technology is little known in Poland but very popular in the United States, Canada and Germany. The elements of the construction are made in a factory or smaller manufacturing companies. Only the ready elements like walls, ceilings or rafter framing arrive at the construction site. This solution makes it possible to assemble a house within a few days. Three types of prefabricated houses are known:

• panel houses – consisting of segments
• houses of concrete slabs – ready made walls arrive at the construction site,
• space houses – assembled from elements within a few days, resembling containers (with floors, walls and the roof).

Wood frame house – Canadian style

In the United States and Canada wood frame houses have been built for about 200 years. The basis of each house is a wooden framework of walls, the ceiling and the roof, which is set on a footing or a concrete slab. Only the specially prepared raw material can be used for building the framework. The use of “fresh” wood will cause sogginess of walls and insulation which may result in fungus, mould and insects. Food frame houses are raised within three months, they may be easily extended as well as built in winter. The post and pan is an interesting and picturesque type of wood frame construction.
